Any act of worship done at Genesis Church will have ONE purpose, to bring glory to God.  Whether the act is teaching, singing, playing, praying, sound engineering, volunteering or having a conversation, the heartbeat would be to love God and others through these acts.  This is how we create a volunteer culture.

We want this to be the motive behind all that we do as we offer our lives as an act of worship.  It is for this reason that we believe that there are no separated segments as we worship God in a gathered setting. This idea to love God with our lives will apply across this board; all ministries will work hand in hand to better love and serve our community. As a volunteer we believe you are fulfilling this call and we need you! We look forward to serving with you:

“Kids” encompasses a lot of opportunities to serve.  All of our areas require set up and tear down in each room.  Our Nursery consists of a 2 part area for infants and 1-2 year olds.  In our nursery we are always looking for committed volunteers who love taking care of our babies.  This means changing diapers, rocking babies & engaging with our little 1-2 year olds.  Our Preschool area is especially for our kids roughly 2-4.  Here we are looking for volunteers who can engage with kids in a way that combines play and learning basic concepts about their Creator.  Finally, our Elementary room uses everything from videos, skits, songs, activities & teaching time to bring our kids from 5yrs-5th grade into a deeper understanding of God.

As the title suggests, Guest Relations is our largest volunteer opportunity at Genesis Church.  Our Welcome Team stretches throughout our building making both regular attenders and guests feel welcomed, this means we need your smiling faces for this role.  Our coffee team is considered most important by all of our “non morning people.”  Our coffee area consists of setting up and operating our entire coffee table before and at the start of service (2 coffee makers, water jug, cups, creamers & sugars).  Our parking team is essentially an extension of our welcome team.  As guests enter the property you will be the first smiling face they see and there to provide any assistance they might need.  For those who prefer to be a bit more hands on, our Signage team arrives early to drive around our community placing our signs at predetermined spots to help guide people as they drive.  Guest Follow Up is for those enjoy investing in others.  Our guest follow up team is responsible for making sure our guests who filled out a contact information are followed up on via an email or phone call.

Our production team is a place for those technologically inclined to unite.  Our Sound Engineers arrive early to set up and EQ our sound system, stay behind the soundboard during the service and stay late to help tear it all down.  Our Computer Operators are those dedicated to detail.  This role requires setting up and tearing down our projectors, projector screens, running video cabling and running all computer media.  Computer operators must also remain at the media table throughout the service for lyric slides and teaching notes.  Video is for those with steady hands.  Our videographers commit to setting up our video camera, cabling and recording our Sunday morning teaching (this means following our teacher as he moves on the stage).  Lastly, our Stage Design team needs all of those labeled “perfectionists.”  The responsibilities encompass anything and everything involved in making sure our stage is both clean and helps communicate what we are teaching that morning.

In our band roles we are looking for a combination of 3 things: heart, ability & talent.  The first priority for our band volunteers is knowing that our purpose is not performance but an act to worship to God.  Our band roles consist of acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard/piano and vocals.

Our volunteers on our Activities vary between being available for our community events, getting materials for a community gathering or offering homes for studies or meetings.
